Thanksgiving 2008

It has been a difficult year…for almost everyone, but there is a lot to be thankful for, especially with the results of the last election.  I never believed there would be an African-American, or person of color, in the White House.  I wonder, what kind of wine President-elect Obama would enjoy?

I’m ready for Thanksgiving; I am looking forward to the Holidays.  Here is a video to my suggestions for pairing Thanksgiving dinner with wine.

I am anxious about this video post, it’s raw video, and I appreciate any feedback.

  1. Thank you for the helpful tips of wine to serve with a Thanksgiving meal. I was wondering if you can list your wines on your web site so I may or other people can purchase the wine with the correct spelling and more infor. Thank you!!

    Cheers!!

  2. I think the video was good. More eye contact would be great. You are knowledgable, so look into the camera. Also consider QPR’s as wines to present to your audience. Budget is an issue for most people, especialy people of color. Glad you are doing what you are doing!

  3. Thanks for the feedback. I’m keeping my full time job for now but things will improve on the site.

  4. If you are able to (ie someone is helping you do the video taping), it might be nice to zoom in (occasionally) on the bottles you are talking about so that they can see the label, the name, etc.

  5. Hey there!

I am Din’ ki nesh, a food and wine writer who stumbled on to this you tube while doing research. I loved your suggestions. I am a huge fan of Viognier (‘cuz it’s girly–the lavender nose-thing), and I LOVE RHONE WINES because the aromas often remind me of Jamaica’s red soil.

Would love to see what you think of my blog:

Do you like tinto de toro? The one I had–2005 Domino de Valdelacasa had a lot of dried herb, bittersweet chocolate and dried cherry characteristics–perfect for turkey day. Just a thought.

Look forward to hearing from you.

  6. Hey Reg,
this is your mama and yo sista. You done good. But had some terrible with the audio. It must be the video, I got a good laptop. Yo mama said, next time, let the baby pick up the wine bottles and pass them to you. She said that you have her hands and we thought one of those bottles looked like that white zindfendel that you do not want us to drink. We still like two buck chuck, but you won’t let us have that either. Therefore, just send us some that pink wine. You know we like pink.

  7. Hey everyone!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and each yr I like to get into the mood-extend the holiday, when it were-by reading “Thanksgiving novels.” For example, most of these stories are mostly about family and friends, about coming together to heal old hurts and giving thanks for the gift of love. … =
